I haven't the foggiest

Seriously.... I don't have the foggiest idea what to even attempt to blog about.

Some people just have the natural ability to ......

*Understand what people will find interesting. (Not the stuff us beginning, inexperienced, less talented folks blog about)

*Be able to word it in a houmous way. (somes just funnier than others)

*Spell most of what they attempt to type. (Unlike some of us....thank heavens for spell check, although I have spelled things so far off, even spell check couldn't tell what the heck my original word could have possibly been) (example...that one comment had 3 spell check errors, including the word *spell check)

*Talk about themselves without coming off as totally self absorbed. (You know, each sentence doesn't begin with "I")

*Find a perfect picture to fit the perfect comment. ( I can't figure out all the rules on what is acceptable to post and what would be the proper way to give credit. Is it ok if you post a link to the pictures origin? How do you know they didn't borrow it before you wanted to borrow it. Can you use any image that isn't copyrighted? How do you know if it isn't copyrighted? What the heck? How do I know what is ok to copy and paste without upsetting or illegally posting pictures?) (by the way how did all you great bloggers learn this....reading "the rules" or trial and error? maybe 1 year of hardtime??)

*Place the picture in the right spot. (Wrap the word beside and under the picture not just at the very beginning or end of the post) (you guys are so clever)

*Make their post long enough so we feel like they put some effort into. (Without just double spacing each little item to make it appear to be a very long post)

*Find the time to do these great post everyday or at least very frequently. (I can't find the time to get the clothes out of the dryer and folded in the same day)

*Come up with the catchy title to the newest post (You gotta grab em' at the get go)

*Use all those really big, clever words you don't see ever very often. (If it wasn't for context clues, I would have to keep Dictionary.com open in a new tab)

*Use catchy phrases/words (That give, the minds eye picture, to go along with the totally made-up phrase/word)

*Find the perfect font for the post (You know the lettering that reflects the mood they are trying to present)

*Find the perfect title for their blog. (you know new and not over done, that gives a clue about the person behind the blog without reading "the about me" part)

****These are things that I admire in all those clever and super talented people that take the time to post something for me to read, that is capitulating, informative and just plain ol' funny. Thanks to all the blogs,  I'm following and have bookmarked, I get that butterfly feeling from seeing new post 2 hours ago . You guys are my blog heroes....and I wanna be just like you when I grow up!

Seriously,,,,,, great job and thank you!!!

Faith, Chance, Luck or ???

Something happened yesterday that got me to thinking...
I'm not sure if it was faith or chance or luck or circumstance?
But none the less....
I was in your favorite big chain, buy anything and everything, one stop shopping including gas, vegetables and your much needed garden rake, when a very nice gentleman stopped and asked what perfume I was wearing.
Now just to make this clear....
I recently found a new perfume that I really like. I have worn and still will wear Perry Ellis 360 *degrees (where is that silly little symbol) but I found a new perfume that I really like. It is called "Nantucket Briar" by Crabtree and Evelyn. Just the fact that someone else reaffirmed that it smells oh so good was nice but.....here is the whole chance, luck or whatever you wanna call it.
When I answered this very nice gentleman it just so happened that the brand name was his grandmothers name! What are the chances that I would be in the said store, one the very day he was, one the very same isle, at the very same time, for him to even notice my perfume and then for him to brave up and ask a perfect stranger the question. And then for me to have chosen his grandmothers name as my new scent or maybe for my scent to have chosen his grandmother name! Evelyn Crabtree!
Maybe, just maybe it was meant to be....maybe he needed some reminder of his grandmother or maybe I needed some reminder of.. of... of .....who the heck knows.
It just got me to thinking......

New project!

I'm off of work today and Mom and I are going to clean her new house.
She is very excited and so am I! A new project is always good! The place is truly going to be a project, but it is very close to me and easy for her to get in and out of (no steps). It is small enough she can handle it but still big enough she can have some space for separate activities. I think the small utility room will be perfect to create a little sewing nook. I'll try to post some of our projects and improvements. I certain Mama will come up with some fabulous ideas for ingenious storage and clever use of your not so common items or your average items used not so commonly! She is just brilliant that way! I remember as a kid always so excited to move to the next place. It always felt so fresh and we always had so much to fix and paint. Mama could make it feel just like home. I can remember bringing all our stuff over to the new place and putting in and then moving round and round, from room to room, until it settled there for a day, a week or a month.  I think that is why I rearrange my stuff all the time. Well maybe, I rearrange because I'm always adding something I really don't need, really don't have the space for, and really, really should have left it at what ever silly junk shop I found it at!
Well I'm off to pack up the cleaning stuff and put on that old t-shirt and pants that I been a saving just for this occasion! Ok, maybe I'll read a few of those fabulous blogs and then pack up the cleaning stuff, get dressed and get busy!
Later All,

Mornings Like This

I just love mornings like this. Honey is off to work and I was able to relax and just read blogs and the forums I frequent. Upteen cups of coffee later, I'm almost ready to get out the door to work. It will be an extra long day today. I have class tonight so I'll be fairly late (at least for me) getting home. I am so enjoying my Sociology Class, even if I usually spend Monday night trying to get all my work in order.  I think Steve enjoys his Tuesday night here all by himself. It kinda gives him that "me" time we all need so much. I thinking this whole blogging thing will take some time coming up with some interesting things to talk about. I still working on it and I'm not ready to give up yet! I'll close with an attempt at posting an accompanying pic.  Ok??, now which one??? Hows about the 4 cutest kids ever!

4 years...Then and Now

Wow,
I was reading blogs and thought I really should give this whole blogging thing another try. What happens when I start searching for my former blog! I find it and the last post just happened to be exactly 4 years ago today. I pretty sure that means something, what I don't know BUT something I am absolutely sure.
So exactly what have I been doing for the last 4 years. Let see:

*Then....watching football and trying to figure out how that whole game worked!
*Now...Still watching the same old football team. Still trying to figure it all out. Had I know the team I married into had purple and gold as their colors, I might have looked for a  better fashion combination (purple washes me out).

*Then...Mason wouldn't be born for another 2 months. Taylor was just starting her first year on school.
*Now...The grandkiddies are doing great...all 4 of them. I just talked to Sawyer, he can now spell his name, say his ABC's and can spell Mom (you can tell who helps out at home, I noticed he didn't spell Dad). He sounded ever so grown up! Taylor is in the 3rd grade, hard too believe. Rileys doing good and in the 2nd grade. Mason told his Dad today he liked being the only one home with his Mom.

*Then...We lived in the house my husband had lived in for the last 30 years of his life.
*Now...We live on the river, in a camp...I have an awesome view (the creek out the back and the river out the front). The river floods but it is so worth it. I was kinda nervous about living here but I so love it. It is so nice to have a home that is our home, without it being someone elses home first! It is all ours, with our own memories.

*Then...Mama was living off in Tennessee
*Now....She lives right here really close. I'm so glad to have her here!

*Then...work!
*Now...work but I have learned a lot!!! I have a set schedule and really like the days I work!

*Then...Holly was finishing up school!
*Now...She has gotten married and they have opened up their own shop. She is talking baby! John says no for a while, we shall see!!!

*Then...JoAnna was JoAnna.
*Now...JoAnna is still JoAnna. She can make you laugh until you pee your pants, make you cry and worry you sick! And I still love her very much.

*Then...Bryan and Crissi lived in Germany.
*Now...They are moving to Virginia. I'm glad Crissi will be close to her family but I sure can't wait until they are sent close to us! Tomorrow is Bryan 30th birthday! my oldest baby is 30. Holy Cow!!

*Then...I weighed in about 180lbs heavier.
*Now...I weigh in about 180lbs less. I use to eat anything I wanted, anytime I wanted.
Now I think about food all the time, but I work really hard to try and make really good food choices. Do I always make the right choice? No, but I do make the better choice most of the time.

So there is a bit of a catch-up on me.
It is amazing how things change but they stay the same!

P.S. As I type this I hear the football game in the background! Now I'm off to see who is winning!

Not enough time

There is just never enough time to get everything done. By the time I get what has to be done finished, there isn't enough time to do anything I want! I have a quilt to make for my sister and it is still sitting where it was months ago. She has been very patient with me, but the baby will need a twin size before I finish it.
Like I don't have enough to do....I decide to start a blog. Which so far hasn't taken up much time. What really is time consuming is reading all the other blogs. I got to a blog....read it....then see a link...read it and so on. I spent valuable hours reading when I could have almost finished that dad blame quilt. This guilt is driving me nuts. If she would just let loose on me...then I would be OK. NO..... she has to be patient and understanding. Why OH Why!!! My daughter said she wouldn't even tell when she was having a baby until the last month.....apparently I work better under presure....Hint....Hint Marla. Just go ahead and give me the riot act. I'll find some time then. Guess I better get off here and get busy.....Dishes, Laundry and all that other stuff. Maybe tomorrow I'll make it to the sewing room. (Keep your fingers crossed)

LSU-Auburn

Let me start of by telling you my husband is a huge LSU fan. He was raised in Baton Rouge, so in his defense, he has no choice. I on the other hand never really understood football. When my son play in school all I could do was yell run. "Run" because if you had the football you had better run, because all the other guys were chasing you and if they had it, you better be doing the same. After several years of football, my sweet husband took the time to explain the game. Don't get me wrong I still get very confused....mostly with that 4th down stuff. I have to say if it was anybody else I was watching with I wouldn't be nearly as amused. My husband makes it interesting. He yell, jumps and uses some interesting descriptive words. In one breath I hear " I hate LSU" and the next is "I love LSU". Oh course this all depends on the score and the last play. He is very into it. My couch usally ends up at least 2 to 3 feet from its orginal place. Tonight was a very close game. At the end of the half the score was LSU-3 Auburn-14, but by the middle of the 3rd LSU had come back within 4 points. The end of the 3rd had LSU leading 17-14. Naturally LSU keep us glued to the TV because with 8:27 left in the 4th LSU put 3 more up. Then what do they do...(this would be where my hubby is using all the colorful language).... let Auburn score a touchdown. (LSU 20-Auburn-21) With 1:03 left we scored 6 points with a failed 2 point conversion. This was our first win @ Auburn since 1998. With almost 90,000 rabid fans watching, LSU kicked Auburns butt. I give him a really hard time about football and LSU, but I like it almost as much as he does!
